The AMU aims to promote Life and Health Underwriting by social and business contact between underwriters. Its aims are to enable members to meet informally and socially several times a year to enjoy pleasant dinners together. Dinner is preceded by a short address by a speaker of distinction, with constructive discussion to follow.

A major purpose of the Association is to make recommendations and support underwriting and insurance industry bodies to consider topical issues.
